By taking this course you will develop a solid understanding of the various specialty chemicals that can be used to treat cases such as edema, jaundice, maggots, and tissue gas​, as well as, bleach, cauterize, and reduce tissue. The course will also help you increase your knowledge about chemicals which can be used as mold inhibitors, topical disinfectants surface preservatives, hardening compounds, water corrective fluids, drainage chemicals, and dyes.​ In addition to learning about the specialty chemicals required to treat a specific case, the course will also address the causes of the conditions, the problems faced by the embalmer, the best approaches for treatment, and the proper methods of using the chemicals for each case. 

By completing this course, you will be able to:  

  • Understand the nature and cause of certain body conditions. ​ 
  • Identify and describe problems embalmers face when dealing with certain body conditions. ​ 
  • Identify the specialty chemicals required to treat a specific case or condition. ​ 
  • Apply the recommended best approach and procedures to treat certain body conditions. ​ 
  • Describe the proper methods of using specialty chemicals for various body conditions.
